Reportedly, at least 16 people, including a policeman, died due to electrocution after a transformer exploded on the banks of Alaknanda River in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli District tiday.
The incident occured at the site of Namami Gange Project. Ten people died and several injured after a transformer exploded on the banks of the Alaknanda River in Chamoli district. Injured have been admitted to the district hospital, Chamoli’s S.P. Parmendra Doval said.
Reports confirm that In-Charge of the police outpost on the Badrinath Highway also died in the incident.
