Relentless training, dedication of staff under able training of College Coach Md Shehzad escorted with strong support of College Chairman Nishant Thapliyal once again proved the mettle of Institute of Technology and Management Dehradun when it won both the trophies in Cricket and Badminton at Sports Event Safurti-2024 in capital city of Uttarakhand.
Final of Cricket League was played between I.T.M. Dehradun and National P.G. College, Lucknow. Batting first, I.T.M. Dehradun gave a target of 118 runs in 16 overs.
Following the given target, team of National P.G. College, Lucknow could only score 88 runs. Thus, I.T.M. Dehradun made a thumping victory in finals with its player Sonu Saini getting adjudged as Player of the Match.
In Badminton’s Final, again the contest happened to be between I.T.M. Dehradun and U.P.E.S. University. Here also I.T.M. Dehradun proved its superiority by winning in both the disciplines of the game – Singles & Doubles.
In Singles Anuj Bartwal of I.T.M. Dehradun won the final by 21-7, 21-14. Whereas, in Doubles, Anuj and Dhanvantri won straight sets by 21-10, 21-15.
Thus, the winning of trophies by I.T.M. Dehradun, both, in Cricket and Badminton, gave it a strong reason to rejoice. Whole staff of I.T.M. Dehradun, lead by its Chairman Nishant Thapliyal, extended congratulations to the winning teams, players, College Coach Md Shehzad and Sports Co-ordinators Himanshu Joshi & Hritika Adhikari.
It has been observed by Media that such attainment by I.T.M. Dehradun in fields of Higher Education and Sports turns out to be a game-changer for its students at time Placement Drives where the Corporate and Government departments give preference to students of I.T.M. Dehradun for jobs.
College Chairman Nishant Thapliyal maintains that students are transformed into leaders at I.T.M. Dehradun in the field of student’s interest. This, in turn, maintains Placement Record of I.T.M. Dehradun above 98 per cent now for more than 22 years.
