PATNA, Jan. 27, 2024 (TBINN)
Amid turmoil in Bihar’s ruling ‘Mahagathbandhan’, the Opposition Bhartiya Janta Party has called a meeting of its M.P.s and M.L.A.s today apparently to discuss the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
According to B.J.P. state unit chief Samrat Choudhary, the meeting will deliberate on party’s strategy for general elections, the dates for which are yet to be announced.
Leaders of B.J.P. on Friday dropped major hints about Nitish Kumar’s reported discussions with party’s senior leaders.
Meanwhile, talking to reporters, senior B.J.P. leader Sushil Kumar Modi said, “No door is closed in politics. The door can be opened if needed.”
In a separate development, Bihar Congress’ leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan called a meeting of party M.L.A.s and former legislators in Purnea at 2 P.M. today. He also denied reports that the meeting had anything to do with latest political developments in Bihar.
“Yes, all Congress M.L.A.s (present and former) and senior party leaders are meeting in Purnea tomorrow to discuss preparations related to ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ of Rahul Gandhi when it enters Bihar on January 29,” Shakeek Ahmed said.
Notably, Congress’ Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is scheduled to enter Bihar on January 29, 2024 and the first public meeting will be held in Kishanganj on the same day. It will be followed by two more rallies on January 30 and 31, 2024 in Purnea and Katihar, respectively, Shakeel Ahmed informed.
