A cyclonic circulation lies over North-East Assam & neighbourhood and a trough runs from North-East, Madhya Pradesh to South-East Assam in lower tropospheric levels.
Under the influence of these systems fairly wide-spread to wide-spread light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms & lightning very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on 25th & 26th March, 2024.
Isolated heavy rainfall or snowfall very likely over Arunachal Pradesh on 25th & 26th; sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on 25th and isolated heavy rainfall over Assam and Meghalaya on 25th & 26th March, 2024.
Isolated light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms & lightning very likely over Gangetic West Bengal on 25th & 26th and over Bihar & Jharkhand on 25th March, 2024.
A fresh western disturbance as a trough in mid & upper tropospheric westerlies runs roughly along Long.
45°E to the North of Lat. 25°N. Under its influence are scattered to fairly widespread light rainfall or snowfall with isolated thunderstorms & lightning
likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad during 27th-29th and Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on 28th & 29th March, 2024. Isolated hailstorm also likely over Himachal
Pradesh on 28th & 29th March, 2024.
Isolated light rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning likely over Punjab & Haryana on
28th & 29th; East Rajasthan on 28th and West Uttar Pradesh on 29th March, 2024.
Another fresh western disturbance likely to affect western Himalayan Region from 29th March, 2024.
Maximum temperature forecast for next five days say maximum temperatures are in the range 36-40°C over South Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, interior
Gujarat, interior Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and interior Karnataka, Kerala & Tamil Nadu which are above normal by 1-3°C. These in the range of 30-35°C over remaining parts of plains of India which are below normal by 1-4°C.
Currently, the maximum temperatures are exceeding 95th percentile of climatological value at isolated pockets of Marathwada, Rayalaseema, interior Odisha, Kerala and South coastal Tamil Nadu. These are
likely to continue to exceed 95th percentile of climatological value over the same region on 25th March and continue to prevail over extended areas of Marathwada and Vidarbha on 26th March and extend further to neighbouring region of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and interior Odisha on 27th & 28th March, 2024.
Rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C very likely over North-West India during next 3 three days and no significant change, thereafter.
Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-4°C very likely over East & Central India and interior Maharashtra during next five days.
No significant change in maximum temperatures very likely over rest part of the country during next five days.
Hot and humid weather very likely to prevail over Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry &
Karaikal and Kerala & Mahe during 25th-29th March, 2024 is in weather forecast.
