UTTARAKHAND HIGH COURT ORDERS GOVERNMENT TO APPOINT LOKAYUKTA WITHIN 8 WEEKS

DEHRADUN, Jun. 29, 2023 (TBINN)

Uttarakhand High Court has ordered the state government to appoint chairperson and members of state’s Lokayukta within eight weeks and submit a compliance report.

A bench of Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Rakesh Thapliyal gave the eight-week deadline to the government on a 2021 petition filed by Haldwani-based social activist Ravi Shankar Joshi.

Now High Court will next hear the case on August 10, 2023.
