Union Ministry of Home Affairs today recommended a C.B.I.-probe into Bhartiya Janta Party’s leader Sonali Phogat’s death case, The Bharat India came to know through sources.
Goa Government, earlier in the day, said, it will hand over investigation of the case to Central Bureau of Investigation. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to hand over the murder-case to Central agency.
Home Ministry asked the Department of Personnel and Training (DoP.T.) to get the case probed by C.B.I., an official privy to the development told the Press. The C.B.I. functions under the administrative control of DoP.T.
Sonali Phogat, a former Tik Tok star from Hisar in Haryana and contestant on the reality T.V. show Big Boss, was brought dead to a hospital in North Goa on August 23, 2022, a day after arrival in the coastal state.
