ALIGARH, Sep. 7, 2022 (TBINN)
Looming death threats and fatwas for installing Lord Ganesha’s idol at her residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh, leader of Bharatiya Janta Party Ruby Asif Khan today stepped out of her house with idol and immersed it at Narora Ghaat amid heavy security.
Ruby Khan travelled from Aligarh to Narora with her two sisters and her husband Asif. Local police personnel accompanied the family to provide security cover. Nevertheless, Ruby Khan remains unfazed by the death threats and fatwas that have been issued against her for installing a Hindu God’s idol at her house and says she is not scared of them.
Speaking to The Bharat India she said I am taking Lord Ganesha’s idol for immersion at Narora Ghaat. I installed idol of Lord Ganesha at my residence on August 31, 2022. Since then this fatwa has been issued. Maulanas or clerics are saying that I have become Hindu as I have installed Lord Ganesha’s idol. I am receiving threats to boycott me from Islam and to burn my family alive. When I go out, people are calling me Hindu but I am not afraid of fatwas and Maulanas. The way I installed the idol in the same way I will immerse with due diligence, she added.
Ruby Khan further informed that she will continue worshipping and installing Lord Ganesh’s idol stating that she is not afraid or scared of the fatwas.
