The triumph of globally popular Telugu song Naatu Naatu from S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR at the Academy Awards is a proud moment for India, says Prem Rakshith, the choreographer behind the newly-minted Best Original Song winner.
Naatu Naatu, composed by M.M. Keeravaani and penned by Chandrabose, now has the distinction as the first Indian song to win an Oscar.
Gulzar and A.R. Rahman’s Jai Ho! had previously won an Oscar in the same category but it was for Slumdog Millionaire the 2008 British production.
