The World Tiger Day was marked with an unfortunate incident in Uttarakhand when a tigress was found dead under Savelde Bridge of Ramnagar in the hill-state.
Notably, celebrations were on for World Tiger Day when the dead tigress was spotted. On getting the information, Jim Corbett Parkk’s Ranger of Dhela Forest Range reached the spot with other officials and took the body of tigress in official custody.
Body of the tigress will be disposed off after post mortem. According to Forest Department officials, the place where tigress’ was found, happens to be government land under western range of Forest Department.
Ranger Sandeep Giri disclosed that information regarding the dead tigress, under Savelde Brudge, was given to them by the villagers.
Probe in to the death of tigress is on and soon facts will come to fore about the death of tigress in the area which is known, world over, for protection of tigers in India.
