Three people were injured after a man allegedly set on fire, one of them, following an argument on board an express train, Railway sources said.
It is suspected that the man, who is yet to be identified, escaped when the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express slowed down after passengers pulled the emergency chain, they said.
According to sources, the incident took place around 9.45 P.M. on Sunaday when the train reached Korapuzha Rrailway Bridge after crossing Kozhikode City.
Fire was extinguished by the passengers who alerted the Railway Protection Force.
Latest reports say three people, including a mother and a one-year-old infant, were discovered dead on the tracks close to the Elathur Train Station. Eight people, including women, were injured on Sunday night when a man sprayed petrol at passengers in a moving train in Kerala`s Kozhikode and then, ignited it, police said
