NEW DELHI, Oct. 1, 2023 (TBINN)
Thousands of Central and state government employees from across the country gathered at the Ramlila Maidan today to demand the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme, with several Opposition parties also extending support to the protesters.
Opposition leaders including Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha M.P. Sanjay Singh, former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his Congress colleagues Arvinder Singh Lovely, Sandeep Dikshit and Udit Raj and Bahujan Samaj Party M.P. Shyam Singh Yadav, besides farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, joined the rally.
The protesters who gathered under the banner of Joint Forum for Restoration of Old Pension Scheme (J.F.R.O.P.S.) and National Joint Council of Action (N.J.C.A.) said they were worried about their post-retirement future.
