SIX KILLED AND MANY INJURED DUE TO EXPLOSION IN OXYGEN PLANT AT BANGLADESH

SITAKUNDA, Mar. 4, 2023 (TBINN)

Today at least six people were killed and several injured when a fire broke out following an explosion at an oxygen plant in South-eastern Bangladesh, officials said.

Death toll could rise as rescue operation was ongoing at the plant at Sitakunda, 40 K.M. or 25 miles from the South-eastern port city of Chittagong, they added.

The cause of fire is not yet known. Six bodies were recovered from the site, local government official Shahadat Hossain informed.

Reportedly, a huge bang was heard which shook an area with a radius of up to two kilometers, witnesses and police official Nayhanul Bari said.
