REWARD-CARRYING NAXALITE KILLED!

BIJAPUR, Jan. 12, 2024 (TBINN)

A Naxalite carrying reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head was killed today in an encounter with security forces in Bijapur of Chhattisgarh, a police official said.

The gunfight took place at a forest near Pusnar Village under Gangalur Police Station when the District Reserve Guard of Bijapur and Dantewada and the Central Reserve Police Force’s (C.R.P.F.) 85th Battalion were on an anti-Naxal operation, he said.

Intelligence in-puts were received about the presence of senior Naxalites, including Gagalurarea committee secretary Dinesh Modiyam and some 20-25 armed ultras cadres in Pusnar Forest. In the ensuing gunfight, Naxalite Toya Potam alias Somlu, aged 30, was killed, he said.
