AHMEDABAD, Feb. 18, 2023 (TBINN)The claim of Gujarat Government that state is a leader in the Agriculture Sector has been invalidated by a report released by the Centre.Union Ministry of Agriculture in its annual report for the year 2021-22 reveals that farmers in Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand are better off than their counterparts in Gujarat.Each farmer’s family in Gujarat has a debt of Rs 56,568, whereas, a farmer’s family in Bihar has a debt of Rs 23,534. In West Bengal, the debt figure is 26,452, Odisha 32,721, Chhattisgarh 21,443, and Uttarakhand 48,338.On the income-front, report says that a farmer’s family in Gujarat earns a monthly income of Rs 12,631 which is far less than the monthly income of farmers in Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand.Is it an outcome of Double Engine ki Sarkaar with portrayal of dual facts about the condition of Gujarat.
