Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami met Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav and put forth a proposal of laying a railway line between Dehradun and Delhi through Mohand.
Notably, as of now, railway passengers have to travel via Haridwar which gets costly and consumes more time. Besides, much of the part from Dehradun toll Haridwar passes through Rajaji National Park. Due to this, the speed of trains have to be controlled and thus, it takes more time.
Therefore, a Railway Project of laying line through Mohand has been proposed which will pass through tunnel as well. But, it can prove to be a boon for the passengers of adjoining states and ones moving between National Capital and Dehradun.
