Suspected consumption of spurious liquor in Punjab’s Sangrur District has taken 20 lives, with six more persons succumbing, officials confirmed today.
To bring the real facts out, a four-member Special Investigation Team (S.I.T.), led by an Additional Director-General of Police rank officer, has been set up in connection with the incident.
Reportedly, 11 people are undergoing treatment at Patiala’s Rajindra Hospital and six at Civil Hospital in Sangrur.
Besides, governnent teams are on the round to know if anyone else is feeling uneasy or unwell.
