Vardhman Educational Society at Roorkee in District Haridwar of Uttarakhand got its property worth more than One Crore attached by Enforcement Directorate in a scam-case of 2013-17 involving Social Welfare Department. The action has been taken against this society under P.M.L.A.
Reportedly, the above mentioned educational society runs two educational institutions in Roorkee with names Institute of Management Studies and I.M.S. Institute of Technology. It is said that this society showed fake admissions of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students and received huge scholarships against these admissions.
Earlier, the case was probed by the Police and thereafter, E.D. took it in its hands.
