Reportedly, gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari has passed away today due to a heart attack today at 8:25 P.M.. He was hospitalized at Banda Medical College after his health deteriorated.
Just days back, he was hospitalised as he complained of abdominal pain in jail but was discharged the same day after his health condition stabilized. His brother Afzal Ansari alleged that Mukhtar Ansari was given poison in jail.
On Tuesday his brother Afzal Ansari claimed that “Mukhtar said he was given poisonous substance in food in jail. This happened for the second time. Around 40 days ago also he was given poison. Recently on March 19 & March 22, he was again given this (poison) due to which his condition is bad.”
Mukhtar Ansari, aged 61 years, was a five-time former M.L.A. from Mau Sadar Seat and was behind bars in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab since 2005. He had over 60 criminal cases pending against him and was sentenced in eight cases since September 2022 by different courts of Uttar Pradesh and was lodged in the Banda Jail.
