A man arrested in a narcotics case died while he was being brought by the Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force to Lucknow from his village in Pratapgarh district, an official said.
Pratapgarh’s Additional Superintendent of Police (West) Sanjay Rai claimed that Ajay Singh alias Shakti Singh, aged 42, was suffering from a heart disease.
On way to Lucknow, Shakti Singh’s health deteriorated on reaching Lalganj in Pratapgarh District, he said.
Whereas, the relatives of Shakti Singh have set Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force for Shakti Singh’s death as they allege that he was taken away by U.P. Police in spite of his ill health which resulted in Shakti Singh’s demise.
