UTTARKASHI, Mar. 26, 2023 (TBINN)
Amid prediction by the Met Office that rain will continue to in Uttarakhand till March 30 2023, reportedly, over 300 goats and sheep perished when lightning struck them in the Khattu Khal forests of Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand.
Resident of Barsu Village, Sanjeev Rawat and his friend were transporting their sheep and goats from Hrishikesh to Uttarkashi when lightning struck, killing at least, 300 animals to death.
It is said that soon a government team will be dispatched to the scene to assess damage. The team will submit a report with the district administration and compensation will be released to the owners of the animals, as per the assessment by the team.
