A leopard snatched away a child from Shankarpur Settlement in the Forest Division of Kalsi’s Chauharpur Forest Range.
As per report, around 7:30 P.M. a four-year-old child Ahsan, son of Zeeshan, was playing in the courtyard of his house when, all of a sudden, a leopard appeared and before anyone could understand anything, the leopard snatched away the child. On this, an uproar by family members, alerted the people around.
Villagers ran after the leopard, but were not able to trace the canine or the child. On getting the information Tehseeldar of Vikasnagar Chaman Singh, Station Officer of Sahaspur Police Station Girish Negi and Forest Ranger Mujesh Kumar reached the spot with their respective teams.
Thereafter, alongwith the villagers government officials and staff started searching the adjoining forest area and a garden. After much efforts the body of child was recovered from the jungle which got mutilated by the attack of leopard.
As a result of this, the local populace of the area happens to be disturbed and under fear.
