Reportedly, Kedarnath Yaatra has been stopped at Uttarakhand’s Sonprayag due to heavy rain in Rudraprayag District, officials announced today.
Rudraprayag’s District Magistrate Mayur Dixit said Kedarnath has been closed till further orders till the heavy rains continue.
Rudraprayag Yaatra to visit the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva began on April 25, 2023 this year.
According to official data released on June 22, 2023 over 30 lakh pilgrims have visited Char Dhaam and more than 10 lakh pilgrims have visited Kedarnath in the ongoing Char Dham Yaatra in Uttarakhand.
