DEHRADUN, Mar. 10, 2023From our Sports CorrespondentToday inaugural match of second Monal Cup Inter-universities College Cricket Tournament, under the aegis of District Cricket Association with Red Bull India as patron, was played at Ayush Cricket Academy, Chidderwala in Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun.Match was played between Institute of Technology and Management, Dehradun and Shri Guru Ram Rai Degree College, Dehradun. Initially, S.G.R.R. Dehradun won the toss and elected to bat.In the stipulated 20 overs, S.G.R.R. Dehradun was able to score a total of 178 runs at the loss of 4 wickets. For S.G.R.R. Dehradun, Sameer Rai made 49 runs and Akhil Singh Rawat contributed 46 runs.For I.T.M. Dehradun Riyansh Rawat took 2 wickets in four overs giving away 25 runs, whereas, Sayam Arora of I.T.M. Dehradun also took 1 wicket in 4 overs at cost of 24 runs.Thereafter, team of I.T.M. Dehradun overtook the score of S.G.R.R. Dehradun in 19.3 overs by making 181 runs after losing 6 wickets. While the score of S.G.R.R. Dehradun batsman of I.T.M. Dehradun Prateek Pawar made unbeaten 62 runs while Manish Kumar of I.T.M. Dehradun remained not out at the score of 37 runs. Batsman of I.T.M. Dehradun Nishchey Singh Negi also contributed 32 runs to the victory of I.T.M. Dehradun.For S.G.R.R. Dehradun Anmol Shah took 2 wickets giving away 38 runs in 4 overs. Jagmohan Nagarkoti of S.G.R.R. Dehradun, also trapped 1 wicket in 3 overs giving away 33 runs. Ravinder Negi of S.G.R.R. Dehradun also took 1 wicket in four overs at cost of 43 runs.Ultimately, it was I.T.M. Dehradun which won the match by 4 wickets under the coaching of Md Shehzad and able supervision of I.T.M. Dehradun’s Chairman Nishant Thapliyal.Prominent among the present were Arjuna Awardee Vishesh Braguvanshi who is also Captain of Indian Basketball Team, Special Guest Advocate Rajveer Singh Bisht, former National Junior Athlete Mohan Singh Negi, Inder Mohan Bartwal, Secretary D.C.A., Haridwar, Vijay Pratap Mall, Secretary, D.C.A. Dehradun, Ashok Gupta, Director, D.C.A. Dehradun, Anil Chamoli, Director D.C.A. Dehradun and others.All present congratulated the Cricket Team of I.T.M. Dehradun and appreciated their effort in the match. Chairman of I.T.M. Dehradun Nishant Thapliyal also gave kudos to his college team.Really, it is real hard team-work of I.T.M.
