An inter-collegiate Cricket Tournament has been organized at Maharana Pratap Sports College, Dehradun, by Institute of Technology and Management, Dehradun, under the aegis of H.N.B. Garhwal (Central) University. In the above mentioned Twenty 20 Cricket Tournament all the affiliated colleges to the university are participating.
Today the inaugural match was played between I.T.M. Dehradun and D.B.S. (P.G.) College. As per its reputation, I.T.M. Dehradun, while batting first posted a huge total of 218 runs in 20 overs at the cost of 4 wickets.
Representing team of I.T.M. Dehradun batsman Aryan Dhulia scored 70 runs in 39 balls with 10 boundaries and 2 sixes. Gaurav Kamboj of I.T.M. Dehradun made 49 runs in 15 balls with 5 boundaries and 4 sixes. Shubham Chauhan followed them with 38 runs in 29 balls hitting 4 boundaries and 2 sixes.
On the bowling front for I.T.M. Dehradun Riyansh Rawat took 3 wickets giving away 17 runs. Shubham Singh took 2 wickets giving away just 4 runs and touching him was another bowler of I.T.M. Dehradun Rhythm Saxena who also claimed 2 wickets costing 5 runs.
Thus, giving a brilliant performance, Cricket Team of I.T.M. Dehradun got the whole team of D.B.S. (P.G.) College out at just 51 runs only in 13.1 overs. This victory with a huge margin of 167 runs, I.T.M. Dehradun got under the coaching of College Coach Md Shehzad who was there as a guide and mentor.
Chairman of I.T.M. Dehradun Nishant Thapliyal extended heartiest wishes to the players for achieving such a strong victory.
Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Chief Guest P.C. Verma. Chairman of I.T.M. Dehradun, Vijay Malla and Manish Gurung lighted the lamp on the occasion. Director Dr Bhatt, Principal Dr Anju Gairola, Registrar Ruchi, Sports Officer Mamta Negi and Sports Manager G.B. Bacheti of I.T.M. Dehradun also remained witness to the match.
