Today after a two-day acting workshop, a drama was presented in front of the students, faculty members and staff of Institute of Technology and Management, Dehradun, on the occasion of birth anniversary of Garhwal’s great martyr Shridev Suman at college auditorium.

Drama, penned down by Jan Kavi Dr Atul Sharma, started with Shridev Suman’s jail and how the body of great martyr was thrown after 84 days who died while continuing his hunger strike. Hunger strike and presentation of jail was impressively enacted by Abhinav Vardhan Shukla and Fardeen. Birth place of Shridev Suman, Village Jaal in Tehri District was also mentioned in the drama. For this Urmila Vaishnav, Vaushnavi Bhatt, Surbhi, Deepti Thapliyal, Taranpreet and Nancy Rawat touched the hearts of audience.

Song Ek Tiranga Lehraye, written by Ranjana Sharma filled all present with high patriotic spirit. Main focus of the drama was to fight with today’s prevailing corruption by adopting the path and principles of Shridev Suman.

At conclusion of the program, books were distributed alongwith an open question hour, in which, students and others interacted. Program was meticulously compared by Samriti Uniyal.

Program, among others, was graced by the honorable presence of I.T.M. Dehradun’s Chairman Nishant Thapliyal, Director Dr Bhatt, Principal Dr Anju Gairola, Registrar Ruchi, Dean Ravi Bahuguna and H.R. Head Ayesha Dhyani. Chief Guest of the program was Social Worker Ravindra Jugran.

Speaking on the occasion Chairman Nishant Thapliyal stressed on the fact that principles of Martyr Shridev Suman are relevant even today to eradicate the corruption from society and drive us towards nation building.
