Fare of helicopter services provided at Sirsi and Phata has increased.
This has been done ahead of Kedarnath Yaatra commencing on April 25, 2023. The chopper-service to Kedarnath Shrine is provided from Sirsi, Phata, and Guptkashi helipads.
Nitably, a round trip from Sirsi helipad to Kedarnath which cost Rs 4,680 per person last year, has gone up to Rs 5,498 this year. Similarly, the rate from Phata has gone up from Rs 4,720 to Rs 5,500. While the rate from Guptkashi has gone down from Rs 7,750 to Rs 7,740.
It is pertinent to mention here that temple is situated at an elevation of 11,750 feet above sea level. To reach the shrine, people are required to trek a distance of 18 Kilometres or opt for helicopter rides. Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority’s C.E.O. C. Ravishankar said six firms have been permitted to fly on the heli routes and process is under way to approve three more.
