Football Team of 16 veteran players belonging to U.K. Masters Uttarakhand has left for Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, where Third All India 9’A Side Veterans’ Football Championship is to be held on August 27 & 28, 2022 at Railway Church Ground, Podanpur of District Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
The above information has been shared by Nishant Thapliyal who is Vice President of U.K. Masters Uttarakhand Club. Nishant Thapliyal also happens to be Chairman of I.T.M. Dehradun. Star is always a star, no matter on what turf or discipline he is engaged in! This has been amply proved by Nishant Thapliyal who took I.T.M. Dehradun to glory and has now successfully steered his club in final eight teams of the Championship amongst which the contest will be held. The other seven teams who have qualified for the Championship are Assam V.F. Club, Hyderabad V.F. Club, Karnataka V.F. Club, Kolkata V.F. Club, Manipur V.F. Club, Mumbai V.F. Club and Tamil Nadu V.F. Club.
It was Nishant Thapliyal only under whose leadership members of U.K. Masters Uttarakhand met Hon. Governor of Uttarakhand Lt. Gen. Gurmeet Singh (Retd) on the subject. Honorable Governor of Uttarakhand wished the members of club all his best and promised them dinner alongwith him if they return as winners.
In order to boost up the spirits of veteran players of Uttarakhand’s team, Hon. Governor Gurmeet Singh presented 16 footballs to 16 players of U.K. Masters Uttarakhand.
Besides, he flagged off the club’s Football Team prepared under the able administration of Nishant Thapliyal whom the Governor heartily appreciated a lot for providing, alongwith world-class teaching, different sports’ opportunities to the students of I.T.M. Dehradun. Students of the college too, in return, played up to the glory in their respective events and filled I.T.M. Dehradun and Uttarakhand with pride by gaining achievements in sports like Cricket, Badminton, Kabaddi and Handball etc.
At conclusion Uttarakhand’s Governor gave his blessings to Football Team of U.K. Masters Uttarakhand and I.T.M. Dehradun.
