Uttarakhand Education Department issued notices to 22 schools in the hill state. This action has been taken on private schools for recommending expensive books by private publishers in their curriculum.
Banshidhar Tiwari, Uttarakhand’s Director-General of Education cautioned that No Objection Certificates of such defaulting schools will be cancelled.
Notably, Education Department of Uttarakhand conducted simultaneous raids on 256 private schools across the state following complaints that National Council of Educational Research and Training (N.C.E.R.T.) books were replaced with expensive books.
