DHAMI MEETS AMIT SHAH & LIKELY TO MEET MODI ON UNIFORM CIVIL CODE

Amid the raging debate over implementation of Uniform Civil Code in the country, it is hoped that the Uttarakhand Civil Code Draft will likely be the template for the Centre’s law, sources said.

As per sources, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a key meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in National Capital late Monday night regarding U.C.C.

The Chairperson of Uttarakhand U.C.C. Drafting Committee Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai was also present in the meeting, they said.

It is also expected that Uttarakhand’s C.M. Pushkar Singh Dhami will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence today and discuss the Uniform Civil Code draft and other pressing issues.

Chairperson of Uttarakhand U.C.C. Drafting Committee Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai will accompany Chief Minister, who completed two years as head of hill state today.

Notably, this comes amid the raging debate over the implementation of Uniform Civil Code in the country.
