DEATH TOLL IN TEMPLE’s TRAGEDY AT INDORE RISES TO 36

INDORE, April 1, 2023 (TBINN)

The search for missing at Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal Temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore, has almost ended after the roof of a stepwell there collapsed during prayers.

Now the death toll from the tragedy has risen to 36 after recovery of more bodies.

Body of one person who had gone missing after the incident has been recovered from the bawdi. With this, the bodies of 36 people have been recovered from the water body so far, Indore’s Divisional Commissioner Pawan Kumar Sharma said.

Sixteen people, who were injured in the accident, have been admitted to a hospital, while two other persons have been sent home after first aid, he added.

Bodies of all those who have been reported as missing by their families have been recovered. Army, the National Disaster Response Force (N.D.R.F.) and the State Disaster Response Force (S.D.R.F.) searched the rubble for more victims.
