CYRUS MISTRY DIES IN ACCIDENT

MUMBAI, Sep. 4, 2022 (TBINN)

Cyrus Mistry, a businessman and former Chairman of Tata Sons died in an accident on his way to Mumbai at Paalghar.

According to police, the car, he was travelling in, was being driven by a well-known gynecologist from Mumbai. There were two other passengers in the car as well, the gynecologist’s husband Darius Pandole and his brother Jahangir.

Primary information suggests that the car was overspeeding and tried to overtake another vehicle from the wrong side that is, from the Left, a police official told The Bharat India. Gynecologist, Anahita Pandole, aged 55 and her husband Darius Pandole aged 60, survived the crash, while Mistry, aged 54 and Jahangir Pandole, brother of Darius, were killed in the accident, which happened around 3 P.M., about 120 K.M. from Mumbai, the official said. Mistry and Jahangir were in the back seats, the official said. Darius was in the the front seat with Anahita, who was at the wheel, he said. An eyewitness said a woman was driving the car and tried to overtake another vehicle from Left Side, but lost control and crashed into the road divider.

The eyewitness, who works in a roadside garage, told media we rushed to the accident spot but did not touch the vehicle or the inured persons. In 10 minutes, help came and two injured persons were pulled out from the car and shifted by an ambulance to hospital. The other two were dead, he said.

Anahita Pandole and her husband are likely to be shifted to a hospital in Mumbai on Monday, a police official said.
