DEHRADUN, Oct. 26, 2023 (TBINN)
Uttarakhand Congress has accused Bhartiya Janta Party Government of the hill state of showing an apathetic attitude towards Sanskrit colleges of Uttarakhand. Spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Sheeshpal Singh Bisht said that the B.J.P. Government, which engages in the politics of Hindutva, has plans to close Sanskrit colleges in Devbhoomi of Uttarakhand.
The B.J.P. should know that Sanskrit is at the very base of Hinduism, Sheeshpal said and informed that on October 16, 2023, Secretary of Sanskrit Education directed the Director of Department that Sanskrit colleges will not use college after their name nor offer graduate courses to the students. These colleges will now be able to conduct only the Poorva Madhyama and Uttar Madhyama courses.
The state government has also ordered the Sanskrit colleges to change their signboards, Sheeshpal alleged.
