Cost of properties in Uttarakhand set to go high

Now after a gap of three years the circle rates in Uttarakhand have been revised. State’s Cabinet, in its meeting, approved the plan to revise the rates. This exercise, will, in fact, increase the rates of properties in many areas of the hill state.
Uttarakhand’s Chief Secretary S.S. Sandhu said that the circle rates were not revised for the last two years due to pandemic of COVID-19.
Uttarakhand’s Finance Secretary Dilip Jawalkar elaborated that the hill state has been divided into 57, 000 areas and in 39, 000 areas, the circle rates have been increased by less than 50 per cent while in 5, 299 areas the circle rates have been increased by 51 to 100 per cent.
In five per cent of the areas, circle rates have been increased by 100 per cent and more, Uttarakhand’s Finance Secretary added.
