BOMBAY HIGH COURT ASKS S.F.I.O. HOW IT COULD DOWNGRADE A LOOKOUT CIRCULAR

MUMBAI, April 2, 2024 (TBINN)

Bombay High Court today sought to know from the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (S.F.I.O.) under which circular or provision it could downgrade a lookout circular issued against a woman being investigated in a 2019 fraud case.

A division bench of Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Manjusha Deshpande was hearing a petition filed by one Shikha Kapadia, who was seeking to quash an L.O.C. issued against her in September 2019 after the S.F.I.O. launched a probe against her and her employer company.

Advocate S.K. Halwasia, appearing for the S.F.I.O., informed court that the authority was downgrading the L.O.C. issued against Kapadia.
