DEHRADUN & NEW DELHI, Jun. 30, 2023 (TBINN)

Land-slides, flash floods hit Uttarakhand, blocked Badrinath Highway. Heavy rains in Uttarakhand caused land-slides and flash floods, resulting in a blockage on the Badrinath National Highway in Chhinka of Chamoli District.

Efforts are currently under way to clear the road. Monsoon has advanced in almost the entire country. According to the India Meteorological Department, several Indian states will continue to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall by the end of weekend. This year the Monsoon slightly got delayed due to the entry of Cyclone Biparjoy, but last week it covered most parts of South and West India.

Monsoon has brought relief to the people from plain region who were suffering from sweltering heat. Also to farmers who grow cereals.

However, alongwith other factors, torrential rain, which started last week, impacted tomato crops, resulting in a price-rise.
