In case of any medical emergency, Uttarakhand Government’s Health Department has made arrangements to airlift the pilgrims during Char Dham Yaatra with the help of air ambulance.
The ambulances would airlift patients and take them to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Hrishikesh, Government Doon Medical College Hospital and Srinagar Medical College.
Uttarakhand’s Health Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat said that Chief Medical Officers and District Magistrates of Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Rudraprayag have been asked to remain alert in view of a recent death of pilgrims due to heart attack in Yamunotri.
Uttarakhand’s Health Minister said that the officers have been directed to airlift pilgrims in case of any emergency so that services of specialist doctors are made available to them without any delay and help in saving precious lives. This step would certainly enhance confidence of pilgrims while pilgrimage in Uttarakhand.
