Reportedly, at least 15 people, including seven children, were killed after a tractor trolley fell into a pond in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj today.
It has been informed that people aboard the tractor-trolley were going to take a holy dip in Ganga River on the occasion of ‘Magh Purnima’.
Notably, the use of tractor-trolley for passenger-carrying has been banned in the state, but it still remains a fact that only giving instructions, governments think they have the needful. But, most important is the implementation of any instruction given by any government.
This case shows that Uttar Pradesh Government is not serious about implementation of its own orders and only busy yielding the crop of such instructions for electoral benefit by propagating these in Media and Press.
Simply sending two state ministers to the site of accident is not going to suffice the loss of dead. Had this step by Uttar Pradesh Government been taken for implementation of its instructions, then such unfortunate happening could have been averted.
Strict action should be taken against the responsible officers, so as to, deter the concerned authorities from dereliction of their important duties.
