DEHRADUN, Jun. 9, 2023 (TBINN)
Central Government has given preliminary approval for development of two new townships in Uttarakhand.
Reportedly, two projects that have been approved by the Centre include an industrial township in the Parag Farm area of Udham Singh Nagar and an integrated township in Doiwala on the outskirts of hill state’s capital Dehradun.
Notably, state government submitted a proposal worth Rs 1,100 crore, seeking assistance from the Central Government for the development of these two townships, one in Kumaon and the other in Garhwal. A Central Government’s delegation is likely to conduct an on-the-site assessment of both locations in Uttarakhand.
Through this, government tries to transform Parag Farm in Udham Singh Nagar into a major industrial hub, attracting an investment of Rs 10,000 crore and creating employment opportunities for local residents. Whereas, proposal for an integrated aero township in Doiwala takes advantage of its proximity to the airport and its convenient location.
Still, the projects happen to be in their early stages and an assessment by Central Government will only set progress of these two projects.
