LAHORE, Jun. 8, 2023 (TBINN)
Reports coming in from Pakistan tell that many of disgruntled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders created a new political party, rumoured to have the support of the powerful military, to compete in the general elections that are likely to take place in October, dealing a blow to the embattled former prime minister Imran Khan.
Notably, in the wake of the May 9, 2023 attacks on military sites, Imrab Khanβs old friend and sugar baron Jahangir Khan Tareen, who is leading the group of leaders leaving the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party, announced the formation of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (I.P.P.) during a news conference in Lahore.
We are laying the foundation of a new political party named Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, Tareen said who was flanked by former leaders of P.T.I. including Aleem Khan, Imran Ismail and others.
