NEW DELHI, June 9, 2024 (TBINN)
Amid allegations of inflation of marks in the N.E.E.T.-U.G. medical entrance exam, the National Testing Agency (N.T.A.) announced that the Education Ministry has set up a four-member panel to review the grace marks awarded to more than 1,500 candidates.
The N.T.A. also denied any irregularities and said the changes made in the N.C.E.R.T. textbooks and grace marks for losing time at the examination centres were some of the reasons behind the students scoring higher marks.
The issue also took political turn with several parties raising concerns about the authenticity of the national exam for medical courses.
Aam Admi Party demanded a Supreme Court-monitored S.I.T. probe while the Congress alleged that paper-leaks, rigging and corruption have become an integral part of many examinations. The party also accused Bhartiya Janta Party of cheating youngsters and playing with their futures.
