After scripting a win for the ages against Pakistan, U.S.A. Captain Monank Patel said his team did not feel any pressure during the nerve-wracking Super Over as the crowd was mostly behind Babar Azam’s men, which ended up backfiring on the visiting side in their T20 World Cup clash here.
M9nak Patel made a composed 50 as co-hosts U.S.A. shocked 2009 champions Pakistan via Super Over here.
“I thought we should have finished the game (in regular time) and we should have never gone to Super Over. I mean the way we kept our nerves…and in the Super Over particularly, scoring 18 runs gave us a big upper hand to defend the target,” Monak Patel said in the post-match press conference.
On the other hand, left stunned by the Super Over Defeat to U.S.A. in their T20 World Cup opener, an upset Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam conceded that his side was guilty of taking things “a little lightly” and failed to come good in any department of the game.
