NEW DELHI, June 27, 2024 (TBINN)
Congress’s student and youth wings took to the streets in National Capital today over alleged irregularities in the conduct of N.E.E.T.-U.G. and U.G.C.-N.E.T. exams, with N.S.U.I. members forcefully entering the N.T.A. headquarters and locking its office, and the I.Y.C. staging a huge protest at Jantar Mantar.
National Students’ Union of India (N.S.U.I.) has threatened to lock N.T.A. offices across the country if their demand to ban the N.T.A. is not met.
Police resorted to lathicharge to disperse protesters at Jantar Mantar where Indian Youth Congress, Left-affiliated All India Students Association (A.I.S.A.) and Delhi University’s Krantikari Yuva Sangathan continued their indefinite sit-in for the second day on the issue.
At the National Testing Agency (N.T.A.) headquarters at Okhla, Delhi Police has deployed a team of security personnel to prevent recurrence of any such protest. N.S.U.I. members stormed into the testing agency’s headquarters during the protest led by its national president Varun Choudhary.
The students’ body staged a sit-in inside the N.T.A. office for nearly an hour and left by the time senior police officers reached the spot.
