PORTALS OF KEDARNATH, GANGOTRI & YAMUNOTRI OPEN!

DEHRADUN, May 10, 2024 (TBINN)

After being closed for Winter Season, revered Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri temples in Uttarakhand opened for devotees today.

Nestled in Garhwal Himalayas, these temples annually shut their doors as snow blanket covers the region, only to reopen with the arrival of Summer.

As per the reopening schedule announced by officials from temple committee, Kedarnath and Yamunotri temples opened at 7 A.M. while Gangotri Temple will follow suit at 12:20 P.M. Badrinath, which is also a part of Uttarakhand’s ‘Char Dham Yatra’, will be opened at 6 A.M. on May 12, 2024. Kedarnath Ji is being decorated with 20 quintals of flowers. Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (B.K.T.C.) Media In-charge Harish Gaur said.

The five-faced idol of Baba Kedar, which is carried from its winter abode at Ukhimath’s Omkareshwar Temple to Kedarnath, has left gets reinstalled inside the temple amid elaborate rituals, he said.
