With Supreme Court’s deadline for holding Assembly polls looming large, Election Commission (E.C.) held a series of meetings in Jammu and Kashmir with political parties and district heads of the Civil administration and Police in order to get a feedback for holding the election.
The E.C. Team, led by Chief Election Commissioner (C.E.C.) Rajiv Kumar and including Election commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and S.S. Sandhu, met representatives of registered political parties, including National Conference (N.C.), People’s Democratic Party (P.D.P.), Bharatiya Janata Party (B.J.P.), Congress and Jammu and Kashmir Panthers Party (J.K.P.P.), at International Convention Centre (S.K.I.C.C.) here.
Immediate Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir was the dominant demand of all political leaders who met the visiting E.C. Team.
