TEHRI, Sep. 16, 2022 (TBINN)

Hrishikesh-Badrinath National Highway N.H. 58 has been closed for vehicular movement due to heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand’s Tehri District.

Reportedly, most parts of the district have been receiving heavy rainfall since last night, bringing vehicular movement to a halt at several places on the highway.

Reports tell vehicles were left stranded on the highway due to land-slides in the area. However, efforts are on to clear the road. India Meteorological Department, I.M.D., has issued a Yellow Alert for Tehri District on September 16 and 17, 2022 predicting heavy rainfall in the area.

Owing to heavy rainfall, several areas near Shivpuri, Vyasi and Atali Ganga have been closed. Local passers-by, including pilgrims travelling to Chaar Dhaam, are stuck on the national highway due to land-slides.

Meanwhile, administration is trying to clear off debris from the roads.
